Materials Accepted:


Newspapers and mixed paper
– Newspaper inserts, magazines, books (hardcover books, remove hardcover and dispose), clean milk & juice cartons, envelopes, junk mail, office paper, office files (NO metal bindings), telephone books, brown boxes and brown paper bags, cereal boxes, product boxes. (NO Wrapping Paper)

Cardboard – Flattened corrugated (CLEAN Pizza Boxes) Cut to pieces no larger than 3ft. x 3ft.
  
Glass – Food and beverage containers only, CLEAN, separated by color. NO window glass & No Blue Glass, NO CAPS, LIDS OR CORKS

Plastic – Look for the recycling symbol on the bottom: #1 to #7 accepted. NO plastic bags, Styrofoam or bubble wrap

Deposit cans, bottles, water bottles – Bethany Historical Society Trailer (Must be marked CT- 5₵ deposit)
Aluminum cans, metal cans, pie tins, clean aluminum foil (Same Compactor as Plastic, must be clean)

Scrap metal – All sorts (combine clean non-deposit cans with plastics) 

Light bulbs – Fluorescent (including CFL type), and LED

E–waste – CEDs (Covered Electronic Devices) such as personal computers, monitors, laptops, printers, CRT based TVs and non-CRT TVs sold to consumers, audio equipment (not including speakers) For a complete list: www.take2recycle.com

Uncontaminated waste motor oil – Separate container (oil only) must be tested first by attendant
Automotive Antifreeze – Separate containers (not contaminated)

Batteries – Automobile type (trade in for “core” credit when possible), NiCad, lithium, alkaline, etc.

Appliances – For large appliances, see attendant. $10.00 fee for refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers
                       (Fee applies to any unit with refrigerant gas)
Tires – Car tires $6.00 fee and light truck tires $8.00 fee; No rims (discard rims with scrap metal)

Dry Mattresses and box springs – see attendant; some restrictions apply ($25 fee applies if unacceptable)

Not Accepted at the Center

Wax Paper, Soiled Paper and Pizza Boxes, Soiled Napkins/Paper Towels, Pet food Bags, Dryer Sheets
Leaves and brush

Construction debris – Please arrange with private hauler.
