Dog licensing




When can I apply?

 

  • Licensing is done during the month of June. 
  • A $1.00 late penalty is added for each month after June 30th.

What is required?

 

  • A rabies certificate from your veterinarian is required when licensing.
  • Proof of spay/neuter (if applicable) from your veterinarian is also required.

How do I get a license?

 

  • Licenses may be obtain in-person, by mail or online.
  • The online option is available for certain dog licenses through our third-party vendor, Cott RECORDhub.  Once registered, applicants may click on the links listed below to submit requests and purchase licenses online.  Please note that a $2 convenience charge will be added to the cost of each license, AND credit card processing fee, based on the amount charged.  A portion of the convenience fee will cover the cost of postage to mail you the license(s) and tag(s).

What are the rules for local kennel licenses?

Local kennel licenses are required for owners who breed more than five litters of dogs annually.  (Breeders of less than five litters a year may also apply if they wish, but it is not mandated.)  10 tag local kennel licenses cost $51 and 20 tag local kennel licenses cost $102.  These must be purchased either in-person or by mail.  For more information, please contact the Town Clerk's Office.
