CTDOT - PAVING PROJECT – ROUTE 42 East
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a pavement preservation project will be performed on Route 42 in Bethany, Prospect and Cheshire starting May 6, 2024, and is scheduled to be completed October 18, 2024. As part of the 2024 Pavement Preservation Program, the purpose of this project is to preserve the pavement surface and extend the serviceability of the pavement structure on Route 42.
The work on Route 42 begins at the intersection of Route 63 (Amity Road) and ends at South Brooksvale Road in Cheshire.

There will be alternating one way traffic on Route 42 Monday through Friday from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 6:00a.m. Night work for paving will be during the hours of 6:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
