Need Help Paying Your Heating Bills?

Applications for fuel assistance are being accepted in the Bethany Human Resources and Service Office at the Bethany Town Hall. There are income eligibility requirements.

Eligibility for benefits is based on the household’s total annual gross income, household size and liquid assets. Liquid assets that exceed $10,000.00 for homeowners or $7,000.00 for other households will be included as income. Home visits will be arranged for those who are homebound. Appointments can be made by calling 393-2100 ext 124.

Bus Fare Increase Beginning September 1, 2008

$1.50 per destination in the Town of Bethany

$3.00 for round trip

Out of the Town of Bethany $2.50 per destination

For example it will cost $2.50 from home to 60 Temple Street New Haven,

Then from 60 Temple Street to Stop and Shop in Amity Shopping Center that will be an additional $2.50

Then from Amity Shopping Center to home is an additional $2.50

Therefore the cost will be $7.50

Each destination will be $2.50

This will be strictly enforced Per the Human Resources and Service Office There has not been a price increase since the Bethany Senior Bus Transportation has been in existence 1998

24th Annual Statewide Senior Outing

The City of New Haven, Department of Elderly Services is inviting us to the 24th Annual Statewide Senior Outing at Holiday Hill, Cheshire CT. The event will be on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 9am to 4pm. Ticket price is $25.00 per person.

Great Fun, Great Food and Great Music performed by Vinnie Carr.

I will have bus transportation available for those who cannot get to Cheshire on their own call 393-2100 ext. 124. Purchase your tickets through me (Jeanne DelVecchio) even though you are driving to Holiday Hill on your own. All ticket money must be turned in to me by August 13th. Make check payable to me Jeanne DelVecchio, mail to the Town Hall 40 Peck Road, Bethany CT. 06524. Then in return, I will have to make out one check and forward to my contact person in charge in New Haven. Then in return my contact person will issue me the tickets, and I will forward them to you.

There are a few rules that they have: No children will be admitted, no admittance to Holiday Hill before 9:00A.M., no refunds will be given after August 15th. No tickets will be sold at the gate at Holiday Hill.

There’s pools for swimming, horseshoes, bocci, winners get prizes, hayrides, bingo with prizes, and it will be an eating frenzie all day, dancing all day, door prizes and a great raffle !!! This will be rain or shine. We’ll get to see our neighbors from Woodbridge and Orange and meet others from all around the State of Connecticut!

All Bethany Senior Programming will be cancelled on that day.
