Greater New Haven Convention & Visitor's Bureau

The GNHCVB is a legislatively created nonprofit organization, formed in 1993, responsible for promoting the Greater New Haven region as an attractive destination for leisure travelers, motorcoach groups, sporting events, and meetings/conventions. The Bureau is funded by a percentage of the district hotels' gross receipts received by the State Department of Revenue Services.

The Bureau is governed by a 25 member volunteer Board of Directors; 16 members of the Board are appointed by the chief elected officials in the member municipalities, and the remaining nine members are elected from the hospitality industry by the appointed members of the board. The staff of the Bureau is hired by the Board to carry out the day-to-day operations to the Bureau.
