South Central Connecticut Regional Council of Governments - Regional Planning Commission

The South Central Connecticut Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) brings together local governments to coordinate land use and transportation planning. The Council provides a forum to foster communication, coordination and collaboration in identifying and addressing regional issues.

SCRCOG responsibilities include maintaining a regional plan of development, reviewing land use changes that affect member municipalities, and developing and updating a regional transportation plan. SCRCOG also provides a meeting point for various collaborative actions by our member cities and towns.

The Regional Planning Commission (RPC) is the land use arm of the SCRCOG.  The RPC handles all statutory referrals and updates to the Regional Plan of Development.  The RPC is responsible for the preparation and presentation of detailed reports concerning zoning and subdivision referrals on a monthly basis.
