In 1996, the South Central Connecticut Regional Economic
Development Corporation, otherwise known as the Regional Growth Partnership (RGP),
was formed as an economic development entity for the fifteen towns served by
the South Central Regional Council of Government (SCRCOG).
The RGP, a
501(c)(4) corporation, is a partnership between these 15 towns and the
businesses and industrial leaders of the region. The RGP is authorized in its
by-laws to undertake a broad range of functions in furtherance of its mission,
from development of a comprehensive economic development strategy to
acquisition, remediation, and development of real estate.
